About the Risograph style
Risograph prints the real contour map twice, slightly offset, in two riso-style inks that overprint where the layers cross, the way a two-colour zine press misregisters on uncoated stock. Grain and slight misalignment are part of the design, so the print feels handmade rather than plotted.
It is a collectible, tactile look for people who like print culture, and the two-ink palette keeps it warm on the wall. Type is set small and off-grid, in keeping with the press aesthetic.
