About the Type Fill style
Type Fill sets the trail's name very large on clean, warm paper, and lets the real contour lines of the terrain show through the letterforms only. The rest of the sheet stays empty, so the drawing lives inside the words: a long name gives you a wide band of terrain, a short one a dense block of it.
Index contours are set darker than the intermediate lines, so even inside the letters the relief keeps its structure. It is the lightest and most editorial style in the range, and the one that reads first as typography and second as a map.
