About the Eagle Peak trail
The Eagle Peak route in Yosemite National Park measures 11 miles and gains 3,840 feet, with a low point of 4,035 feet and a high point of 7,704 feet. The steepest pitch reaches 53 percent, against an average of 349 feet of gain per mile. On our gain-and-distance scale it falls in the very strenuous band. The nearest town is Mammoth Lakes, about 35 miles away.
The trail
Eagle Peak is the highest of the Three Brothers, a rock formation, above Yosemite Valley in California. This independent peak is located just east of El Capitan.
