One of the longer trails in the batch, this 17.8 mile point-to-point route along the North Rim of the Grand Canyon stays relatively flat, with only 1,517 feet of gain across elevations between 7,493 and 7,807 feet. The 3 percent average grade means long, mellow hiking with mostly level walking.
Despite minimal elevation change, the distance and remote location make this a prized route for canyon enthusiasts. The topo art shows the subtle topography of the North Rim's plateau-like terrain.
