The Slickrock route in Arches National Park measures 2.1 miles and gains 467 feet, with a low point of 4,159 feet and a high point of 4,673 feet. The steepest pitch reaches 39 percent, against an average of 222 feet of gain per mile. On our gain-and-distance scale it falls in the easiest band. The nearest town is Moab, 2 miles away.
The trail
The Slickrock Trail, is a popular mountain biking destination in Grand County, Utah, United States, a few miles northeast of the city of Moab. This 10.5-mile (16.9 km) trail takes riders over a landscape of petrified sand dunes and the eroded remnants of ancient sea beds.
