About the Triple Divide trail
At 11.9 miles with 2,889 feet of elevation gain, Triple Divide runs point to point through Glacier National Park, from 4,730 feet at its lowest to 7,368 feet at its highest. The steepest pitch reaches 42 percent, against an average of 243 feet of gain per mile. On our gain-and-distance scale it falls in the very strenuous band. The nearest town is Columbia Falls, about 36 miles away.
The trail
Triple Divide Peak (8, 025 feet or 2, 446 metres) is located in the Lewis Range, part of the Rocky Mountains in North America. The peak is a feature of Glacier National Park in the state of Montana in the United States.
