Epynt Way is a 9.3-mile out-and-back in the United Kingdom, climbing 990 feet between 1,108 and 1,438 feet above sea level. The steepest pitch reaches 18 percent, against an average of 106 feet of gain per mile. On our gain-and-distance scale it falls in the moderately strenuous band. The nearest town is Brecon, 9 miles away.

The trail

The Epynt Way is a long-distance path created by the Ministry of Defence in 2004 around the perimeter of its 'Sennybridge Training Area (SENTA)' and artillery range on Mynydd Epynt in Powys, Wales. There is, understandably, virtually no public access across the land used by the MoD, pre-existing public rights of way and public roads having been closed, with only one or two exceptions.
